Body lock passing has been all the rage for a number of years now.
The logic behind it is sound: it allows you to both separate your opponent’s chest from their knees (effectively breaking their guard retention and attacking posture) and prevent them from accessing your legs.
But my observation is that most people are using way too much energy trying to counter this position once an opponent has it locked in.
Today I’m going to show you how to make the counter to a fully dialed in body lock at least 2x more efficient (not to mention effective).
Once you get the feel for this subtle movement and the leverage it provides, it will seem like a magic trick –– it’s so much easier. That’s the beauty of first principles Jiu-Jitsu.
